IN CONVERSATION WITH GABRIEL ESCAMEZ
Documented by Pia Riverola, May 2024, Barcelona

Introducing Siedrés Men Spring/Summer'24.
As part of our ever-growing creative community—one rooted in art, design, and craft—we invited photographer Pia Riverola to capture multidisciplinary artist Gabriel Escámez for this season's story.
We asked Pia to invite us into her world—to show us the people and places that move her. She led us to Gabriel.
Pia and Gabriel, longtime friends and collaborators, brought their distinct perspectives together to create something quietly intimate. Set at Gabriel's countryside home near Barcelona, their shared attention to detail and atmosphere made the perfect setting for a conversation about his work, life, and inspirations. His answers to our questions were truly a reflection of his creative mind.
Gabriel, founder of Cobalto Studio, moves fluidly between art direction and interior design. His spaces, much like his energy, are warm, expressive, and deeply intentional. Photographed in Siedrés Men Spring/Summer '24, he offers a glimpse into a life shaped by curiosity and craft.

What fills you with joy?

What inspires you to create?

Where do you find inspiration/ where does inspiration find you?

If you had to describe Barcelona to someone who has never been, how would you do so in one sentence? In a single word?

If you couldn't be an artist, what would you want to be? (Or, what did you want to be when you grew up?)
